OMG, where do I even start? Lol. My aunt has a severe heart condition and needs dental clearance before she can undergo major heart surgery. I've been looking around different dental clinics in the Fontana area, but the challenge is that she gets extremely nervous during procedures, which causes her heart rate and blood pressure to go up. The previous clinic I took her to doesn't even come close to Fontana Modern Dentistry. My aunt almost had to be intubated and ended up hospitalized for 4 days after her visit there. It was honestly a nightmare, and I felt like they had no idea what the heck they were doing. So I decided to change clinics, and luckily, I came across Fontana Modern Dentistry. On our way there, my aunt was already very nervous, so I honestly didn't have much hope that we'd finally get her dental issues resolved. But the moment we walked in, everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Evelin made my aunt feel so comfortable! I was actually so happy when I heard them chuckling inside the Xray room. Lol. That alone was a good sign because it meant my aunt was already more relaxed than usual. Then we met Dr. Sun. Such an easy person to talk to! He explained everything really well, and what I appreciated the most was his honesty. Other clinics were telling us that my aunt needed to have ALL her teeth extracted before they would sign her dental clearance form. But Dr. Sun explained that she didn't have an active infection. He recommended a deep cleaning and discussed what could be done about the rest of her teeth. However, he also emphasized that if her heart surgery was the priority, she should be fine to proceed with that first and take care of her remaining dental issues afterward. And THAT was what I appreciated so much. He wasn't holding her dental clearance hostage just to get us to agree to a full mouth extraction, unlike the other clinics we'd been to. Gina was also amazing! She walked us through the cost breakdown and was extremely knowledgeable about insurance and what benefits my aunt had. My aunt ended up getting an extraction and deep cleaning done that SAME DAY, and yeah, no problems at all! This is someone who has historically been extremely nervous about ANY type of procedure, yet she was so relaxed and happy throughout our visit. I actually asked her what made this clinic different from the others. She said even the smallest gestures to make a patient feel comfortable can make a huge difference. She also mentioned how spacious the clinic was. It didn't feel cramped, so she didn't feel suffocated or overwhelmed. I can't thank the staff at Fontana Modern Dentistry enough. You have no idea how much stress you've taken off my shoulders. I've been going from one clinic to another, worrying about my aunt's condition and whether we'd ever find a dentist who would actually understand her medical situation. Thank you guys SO MUCH!
